The Philips goLITE BLU is well designed and has loads of built in functionality. While it is not it not inexpensive it may very well hold the key to helping you feel more energetic in the winter months.

I find that if your SAD has already crept up on you and you start using it then it takes up to 3 weeks for it to be really noticeable. If you start using it in October before symptoms start then those symptoms never really kick in. I know at the end of the day this has in fact made me functional. It's incredible the difference it's made for me.

I purchased this after talking to a friend of mine who owned one and loved it. I haven't felt this awake in years, and with no side effects. In fact, last Saturday I didn't have time to use it in the morning...was in direct sunlight for an hour and a half, and was still tired. Even after a nap...still tired. I then used my goLite for 30 minutes and was awake and energetic the rest of the day. I've been using it consistently for ~ a month now and sleep great at night, wake up before my alarm, and don't have that tired feeling after lunch. It is wonderful, and now I'm ordering one for my mom. : )
